What Materials We Accept

Ferrous Metals

We accept a wide range of ferrous (magnetic) metals, making it easy for you to recycle and get paid quickly. Our yard is equipped to handle loads of all sizes, from small household items to large industrial scrap.
We accept:
-
Heavy Steel – beams, thick plates, heavy machinery parts
-
Light Steel – sheets, thin offcuts, household items
-
Blue Steel – high-density, premium-grade steel scrap
-
Shavings/Turnings – machine shop steel offcuts and filings
-
Steel Cans – food cans and tin-plated items
-
Steel Wire – fencing wire, cable, bundling wire, and mixed steel wire
All ferrous loads are weighed on our certified weighbridge, and you’ll receive a printed slip showing your full, tare, and net weights for complete peace of mind.

We buy a wide range of non-ferrous metals at competitive market prices. These metals are non-magnetic, high in value, and perfect for earning more from your scrap. All non-ferrous items are weighed in front of you on our digital scales for complete transparency.
We accept:
-
Copper – bright copper, mixed copper, pipes, cables
-
Brass – taps, fittings, mixed brass scrap
-
Aluminium – cans, sheets, profiles, cast aluminium, kitchen items
-
Stainless Steel – cookware, industrial scrap, offcuts
-
Lead – pipes, weights, sheeting, battery components (case-by-case)
-
Bronze & Gunmetal – bushings, fittings, marine-grade scrap
-
Tungsten – carbide tips, drills, inserts, machine tooling
-
Mixed Non-Ferrous – any blend of non-magnetic recyclable metals
With honest weights, fair pricing, and same-day payment, recycling your non-ferrous metals has never been easier.

We do NOT accept:
-
Aluminum cable or wiring unless it is properly documented and presented as legitimate scrap.
-
Brass Cartridge Cases due to it being difficult to prove the origin of them and whether or not they where part of illegal activities.
-
Certain copper types or copper scrap lacking the required paperwork such as original source, proof of ownership or business registration, especially those that raise risk of stolen infrastructure.
-
Brand-new car parts or metal items still in manufacturer condition. These may be considered under warranty or authorized stock rather than end-of-life scrap.
-
Any metal items or infrastructure derived from government installations. This may include electricity cables, rail infrastructure, or public works where ownership is uncertain or theft risk is high.
-
Materials that cannot be clearly identified, separated, or weighed as metal scrap such as heavily insulated cables, mixed waste with plastics, or items contaminated beyond safe processing.
-
Precious metals (such as gold, silver, platinum), these fall outside typical scrap-metal dealer jurisdictions unless explicitly handled under specialized licenses.
-
Materials that pose safety or regulatory concerns (for example, gas bottles not fully de-pressurized/emptied, hazardous metal waste not suitable for standard recycling).
Why we follow these rules:
-
National regulations, such as the International Trade Administration Commission of South Africa and the draft regulations under the Second‑Hand Goods Act 6 of 2009, highlight that metals originating from public infrastructure or with unclear ownership are high-risk and may be subject to criminal proceedings.
-
The government has implemented bans or permit requirements on export of many scrap types (e.g. ferrous or certain non-ferrous metals) in order to combat theft and illegal trade.
-
We mitigate risk not only for ourselves but for our clients ensuring that scrap brought in is legitimate, traceable, and paid out fairly. This protects your rights and our community integrity.
If you’re unsure whether your material qualifies, upload photos or documentation on the contact pageand we’ll gladly advise you before you load up.
